About / Antoine Bellavance

Chronically outside. At least I made a career out of it.

I’m a Melbourne-based social media strategist and photographer with a creative brain and an unhealthy knowledge of the algorithm. I like turning audience insight into ideas people actually want to stop scrolling for.

How I got here

I’ve spent most of my career somewhere between strategy and creating. Figuring out what people care about, finding the idea, then turning it into something worth making.

Over the years, I’ve worked across a broad mix of industries, from financial services and retail to franchise businesses, charities, trades and B2B. My work has covered social, content, email, search, ecommerce and digital marketing more broadly.

I love testing things, learning what works, paying attention to what doesn’t, and sometimes spending too much time thinking about why.

Photography has always been there alongside it. These days I’m mostly shooting rock climbing, adventures, landscapes, events and portraits, usually with an excuse to get outside with my camera.

Experience

Out of office

This is where you’ll find me.

A few favourite moments from days spent doing what I love.

A climber in a helmet and sunglasses taking a break beside the rock face.Taking it all in.Take a look behindTaking it all in.I love climbing, but I like the breaks too. Sometimes just being out there is enough. No need to make every day about getting to the top.Back to the photo
A four-wheel drive parked beside the water in the golden evening light.A pretty good place to park.Take a look behindA pretty good place to park. This makes me want to pack a bag and go again. Give me somewhere by the water and very little on the agenda.Back to the photo
A chalk-covered hand gripping textured rock beside a red climbing rope.Down to the fingertips.Take a look behindDown to the fingertips.I spend enough time thinking about climbing when I’m not doing it. Photos like this don’t help. One look and I’m already keen to get back on the rock.Back to the photo
A hiker looking across a mountain lake from a timber shelter.I’d stay a little longer.Take a look behindI’d stay a little longer.I like having somewhere to walk to, but I’m not in a rush to leave once I get there. Especially somewhere like this. The walk back can wait.Back to the photo
Three hikers pausing on a rocky slope above a wooded valley.Had to get us in one.Take a look behindHad to get us in one.I love a good landscape photo, but I want us in a few of them too. These are the ones I want to look back on years from now.Back to the photo
Black-and-white photograph of water flowing around coastal rocks.Watching the water.Take a look behindWatching the water.I love the contrast here: the rocks are so sharp and the water looks almost soft enough to touch. No colour, just all those shapes and the movement between them.Back to the photo
